About this tool
Unlock removes a password you already know, so the PDF opens without a prompt and can be merged, compressed or archived with other tools.
You must supply the current password. The result is a new, unencrypted document rebuilt page by page, which avoids the damaged files that some unlockers produce.
How it works
- Upload the password-protected PDF.
- Enter the password you already have.
- Download the unlocked PDF.
Frequently asked questions
What if I do not know the password?
Then this tool cannot help — we do not crack or brute-force passwords.
Does unlocking change the pages?
Pages are copied into a fresh document, so content, annotations and page size are unchanged.
Is it legal to remove a password?
Only remove protection from documents you own or are authorised to modify.
